Filmmaker #2 Wes Anderson
Updated: Apr 19, 2018
My favourite moments in a Wes Anderson movie is when we see a character saying and doing nothing but standing in their many environments. The wallpaper, colours, props and accompanying music say more about the characters than any monologue. I especially like it when the mis-en-scene looks as though the film studio gave a child a million dollars to create their idea of a film set. Although some films use a lot of VFX, the effects are predominantly in-camera and hand made which is particularly relevant.
